Catalysts
Cavilink polymers represent the ideal catalyst
carrier. The very large cavities of micrometer dimensions permit even large
molecule reactants to freely interact with catalytic sites. These large cavities
permit free ingress of reactants to the immobilized catalyst, and the
interconnections allow egress of reactants and product into and out of the
microspheres. Our polymers have been used successfully as scaffolds for
catalysts in polyolefin synthesis.
Filtration
Cavilink polymers are ideally suited for a variety
of filtration applications. Porosity can be controlled from about 70% to more
than 90%. A variety of chemical surface modifications is possible so that
specificity for particular species is enhanced. Since both cavity size and
interconnecting pore size is controlled during manufacture, polymers can be
tailored for removal of species of particular size.

Fuel Cells
Cavilink polymers may be particularly useful in
fuel cell applications. The surface area is controllable, as is the size of the
cavities and interconnecting pores. A variety of polymers can be employed to
optimize conductive vs. insulation effects. Further information on this
